Complete reinstall today. Probably caused by some facebook app i downloaded. The messaging program got damaged and could’nt be rescued. Nothing lost in the process though, and market automaticly got the phone back as it was. Took a while, but still no problem. If only there was a way to wipe the windows os and install the rom on the phone itself… please xda developers, pretty please with sugar on top…
Still working brilliantly…but… Battery consumption… Yiekes… I can litteraly see the meter drop almost one percent per minute, and its the display thats the culprit. Will try to fiddle with the brightness settings.
Yesterday I wrote about installing the MDJ Froyo Desire HD 4.4. I’m really impressed with this one. Everything seems to be working in the way it was intended to do. There’s a lot of lagging when phone is updating everything just after switching it on, but during the normal day use its brilliant. As a difference to the windows version on the phone I now have a complete swedish keyboard.
This morning the android gmail app was updated – it is now posible to use the priority inbox on the phone as well. The gas (gear acquisition syndrome) for an android (ie Asus eePad) surfpad is getting worse. Will not be on the market until march next year. Not that will have the money – but hey my birthday is in march. Maybe I wont get slippers this time?
Following a lead from a friend a got the 4.4 version of (here) called MDJ Froyo Desire HD 4.4. Testing is under still under way, but so far it looks brilliant!
Just upgraded my workphone with a DesireHD build. Its amazing how good it works. I can’t really understand how the phone can feel more stable and faster running the OS of the sd-card than the internal memory – but it does!
Its been a while -way too long. Since my last blogg I’ve made a kind of 180 turn when it comes to which OS i like for my computing. Windows 7 came in to my life about two months ago… What a revolution. Finally an OS from the dark side of the force that actually works!
Right now my list of things that make my life easier ie my tech setup is as follows:
- computer – Asus EeePc 1101HA with windows 7
- Office 2010
- Gmail
- Google calendar
- Work Phone – HTC HD2 running Android 2.2
- Private phone HTC Wildfire Android 2.1
A couple of years ago I was chasing the Holy Graal for linux geeks… sync between Thunderbird or Evolution and symbian or windows phone. Luckily I’m a complete nerd and I like the tweeking of computers… Most of the time I had no Idea what I was doing, running scripts wich probably messed upp more than they solved.
But things have changed – family life, work and the real world needs more attention. The above setup allows me to run my computer and my two phone fully synched. Contacts, calendars (yes two!) och my private and work email!
The thing I’m chasing now is synhcronizing my computer with google docs so that I can access any document from my work phone – its a bit of an overkill but still would be ever so cool!
I’m also dreaming of making an Android-app for the webpage of my church! (Where I also work as a pastor)
My biggest problem (nerd-wise that is) is transfering my onenote files to evernote. Its supposed to be a two click operation – well it is’nt… My OneNote notes are made with the Office 2010 version. Evernote is complaining about OneNote 2007 or later not beeing installed. That is a lie – as I work with OneNote every day I know its installed… Anyone got an idea?
Nej Spotifygänget har inte gjort en app, men nu finns mySpot som gör att winmo användare med ett spotify premium konto kan spela musik från Spotify. (rekord i flest användanden av ordet spotify i en och samma mening?) På min Omnia är det lite knepigt att få det att streama som det ska, men via Opera och en spelare som heter Nitrogen (som dessutom är en kalasbra mp3 spelare för winmo) så fungerar det. MySpot befinner sig på version 0.25 och har funnits ute i två dagar eller så… med lite mer tid så blir det nog en riktigt bra app som om inte annat kanske kan sätta eld i baken på Spotify’s utvecklingsavdelning… Båda programmen är freeware. Nitrogen rekommenderar jag hur som helst för den som söker en bra enkel och liten musikspelare för sin windows mobil.

- Google deskbar – almanackan och eposten sköter jag numera till största delen…
- SPOTIFY – har fått mig att börja lyssna på musik igen… VILL HA MOBILKLIENT TILL MIN WINMO!!!
- OpenOffice – står inte ut med Word… jag vill bestämma själv hur det ska se ut…
- WindowBlinds – som får min dator att INTE se ut som en XP (så mycket i alla fall)
- ObjectDock – som jag startar alla mina program ifrån, och ytterligare bidrar till antixpkänslan…

Ju mer jag använder detta lilla program desto mer imponerad blir jag. Låt mig ta ett par exempel:
- Jag får rättt ofta mejl med kallelser till sammanträden som innehåller att antal bilagor. Hittils har förfarandet varit att ha dagordningen på laptopen och bilagorna i en hög på bordet… Nu skriver jag utbilagorna – till OneNote istället för skrivaren…
- De utskrivna bilagorna hamnar i en bilagemapp i OneNote. Ifrån den mappen HYPERLÄNKAR jag bilagan till motsvarande punkt på föredragningslistan. Med andra ord klickar jag fram bilagan, kan göra anteckningar på den, precis som på ett papper och slipper ha något annat än datorn framför mig på sammantträdesbordet…
Jag är imponerad!

Nu har jag gjort ett försök att installera den skarpa versionen av Ubuntu 9.10 på min Asus 1101HA. Fortfarande ett “no-go”. Jo det fungerar egentligen. Wlan bluetooth osv. Maskinen går att använda, men det finns några tydliga problem. Grafiken är alltför krånglig och experimentell att få rätt. Jag får 1024×768 vilket ser skarpt men utdraget ut. Ljudet går inte heller än så länge. Grafikproblemet har med bristen på drivrutin att göra. Tydligen en rätt rörig historia där de experimentella drivrutiner som finns är ett lappverk. GMA500 är en Intel pryl son inte är en Intel pryl… och ingen verkar ta ansvar för att fixa till det. Vi får väl se hur det går.
